BEATCAKES is a mostly NYC/Philly/LA-centric blog that focuses on music news, mp3s, videos, and tour dates. Hip-hop and electro tend to be the main attraction, but posts relating to indie-rock, soul, funk, and others make their way onto the blog as well.

The BEATCAKES name came about when Abby was trying to figure out a name for her college radio show. Don’t ask her what it means.

This blog was started in March 2008.
